Auction Schools

So, you want to be an Auctioneer?
Whether your state requires licensing or not, attending a school should be the second step, as I would recommend spending some time working with an auctioneer, as the first step to see if this is really the profession you may want to pursue.

This page is only intended to provide a list of the various auction schools available and is not considered an endorsement of any school listed.

That being said, I do not encourage those hoping to take short-cuts through online courses or purchasing CDs or similar home and correspondent courses that proclaim to teach you how to be an auctioneer. After all that you “learn,” after a brief period you’ll probably only learn that you still don’t have the basic knowledge and skills to actually get into this business. Keep in mind, you get what you pay for, so why waste your time and money?

There is absolutely no substitute for the professional training you receive in attending a qualified school, as well as the feedback and personal attention you will receive to help you with many different aspects, in addition to learning how to bid-call. Even at the end of the typical 80-hour course, you’ve only received the basics and then the real education begins, as you will also find that there is a whole lot more to the world of business. By the same token, there’s a whole lot more to this profession than jabbering in front of a crowd and NO, you’re not likely to find a “job” calling bids for another auction company… you may want to refer back to the first paragraph about pursuing this profession.

BEFORE selecting an Auction School
Be sure to check your State Laws prior to any decision to enroll in any auction school, as many states with licensing requirements may also require attending specific schools to meet their state licensing requirements.

Please contact us if you operate an auction school not listed or need to have information updated or if you wish to be removed from this list and I will update the information after verifying the information.
